    FAQ

What percent of applicants get into osteopathic medical school?

Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine was ranked 17th overall for best medical school in the practice area of primary care by U.S. News and World Report.

Is it hard to get into osteopathic medical school?

While DO programs are still highly competitive, you can see that the MCAT scores and GPA of students accepted into DO schools are far lower than those at the top MD schools. Most DO schools have acceptance rates of 6-8%, while MD schools usually accept 3-4% of their applicants.

Is it hard to get into Midwestern University?

For many applicants, the answer to this question is yes, but getting accepted to an osteopathic school still isn’t easy. You still need to do very well in medical school prerequisites and on the MCAT and must pursue meaningful extracurricular activities. And the competition for admission is intense.
